Chef Bernie`s Fine Foods in Farmington

I've been coming here for over 10 years thanks to my better half introducing me to chef bernies. Over the 10 years the prices never increased. If I ever have a huge event to feed people, I shall have this place cater. Love love love love love this place.

Too bad I can't give Zero stars. This place is popular with the locals. It has a 'menu' side and a cafeteria side. I've eaten on the menu side a couple of times and the food has been ok. Today my partner wanted to eat on the cafeteria side. HORRIBLE. She had the beef stew- said it was good. I had the 'ribs'. I see 'ribs' on the menu and I'm thinking of barbecued ribs. WRONG these were some stewed ribs in a pan swimming with grease. Server had to pick over the pan for a few minutes to find ones that the meat hadn't fallen off the bones. They were totally tasteless and cooked to mush. Rice overcooked. Mexican entres were totally unrecognizable, obviously had been sitting on the steam table for hours. In addition I'm pretty sure they overcharged me several dollars in addition to the outrageous $2 for a 10 oz glass of sugar water. I will never eat at this cafeteria again. Several other restaurants and fast food places within a few blocks, I would recommend any of them over this place.

Really tasty food for incredibly low prices. Check it out, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Meet up with my family for breakfast, also haven't seen in awhile. My sister and I got the chicken fried steak with eggs, and our eggs were covered in hair. HAIR!!!! Then when we were checking out the cashier was just laughing about it. Since then, we've haven't gone back!! Yuck!!!

Great food as always! Menu changed a little but same great service and food had the country breakfast with biscuits and gravy. Would definitely reccomend to anyone looking for good home Cooked meal feel.

Of course its good food small portions. Lol and for cheaper price. And workers are friendly.

Every time I've been there the wait staff is slow, extremely cheap with basics like ketchup and mustard. I ask for my fries to actually be cooked crispier but it's as if the cook just doesn't get it. The only reason I'm even giving it 2 stars is because the burgers we're decent.

Was excited to go bk to chef Bernies only to be disappointed. Prices went way up. And the chips we served in very small bowls. Sopapillas were hard. I try to enjoy. I will now be going back

This restaurant is always a good choice when deciding to eat out. The good is good, there's enough variety on the menu. And the prices are awesome. The service is good. And there's also a buffet line, for a cafeteria like environment. Always a good pick.

Breakfast is awesome! A retro feel too it, but that's not all, why I see a lot of customers.

I would say that for most of us living in the Farmington area that this place is a hidden gym. Walking into the dining room is like stepping foot into a living history exhibit. Each of the original booths has its own jukebox and there is an authentic 1960s era counter service. I've not been in for the buffet and I've only been to lunch one time but the food is consistently up to standard for American diner fare. I would say you catch this place at its best if you visit during breakfast time.The vibe very much takes me back to having breakfast with my grandfather in the 70s. In fact, when I stopped in for breakfast, Chef Bernie himself was helping set up the buffet line. The staff told me that he opened the place back in the 60s. I would encourage everyone in Farmington to visit at least once. Let's keep this piece of living history going!

Food is inexpensive and great place for breakfast and has several entrees to chose from

This is a good place for good, inexpensive food. The exterior and interior look like a hold-over from the 1970's. Friendly staff keep the place running smoothly.

Decent place to grab a quick bite

Every time we go to Farmington we stop by there for lunch. Service and food is always great. Also the price is a plus.

First time here and our visit was not great. My son had a salad and there was a strand of hair ok n his plate. Food was bland with no flavor. Price was ok, waitress was ok.
